Projecto Kombi by OcupeacidadeStrolling through the concrete sprawl of São Paulo, the rhythmic drum of feet hitting the ground can be heard as this playful people-powered camper van approaches. Dubbed Projeto Kombi, the eco-conscious art installation is made from a wooden frame encased by large sections of cardboard that are simply and realistically painted, and constructed in life-sized proportions. Designed by São Paulo-based ‘ocupeacidade’, the papercraft VW is a self-proclaimed “urban intervention” amidst the polluted and traffic-laden streets of the city.1
