La Samaritaine Renovation-SANAA<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Samaritaine" target="_blank">La Samaritaine</a> is a landmark department store in Paris on the Rue de Rivoli set to receive a major renovation at the hands of Pritzker Prize winning team <a href="http://inhabitat.com/2010-pritker-prize-goes-to-sanaa/">SANAA</a>. The entire retail block is undergoing a massive transformation to encourage new and sustainable economic activity in the historic city center. The mismatched facades will remain mismatched, but one section will receive a major facelift with a completely <a href="http://inhabitat.com/prismatic-high-performing-jaqua-center-fosters-learning-at-the-university-of-oregon/">transparent glass facade</a> to encourage daylighting.1

La Samaritaine Renovation-SANAAThe renovation will create space for 95 social housing apartments large enough for 250 people, 400 new jobs and a commercial revival.5
