California-based artist Andrea Zittel has scooped this year's coveted Frederick Kiesler Prize. Bestowed every two years to under-recognized artists whose work merges the disciplines of art and architecture, the award was handed to Zittel earlier this month at the New Museum of New York - and we can see why. Her compact A-Z wagon stations and other projects address overconsumption and off-grid living in a manner that is both fun and inspiring.
