Ptuj Archaeological Museum-EnotaThe Ptuj archaeological site in Slovenia is of great historical importance and dates much farther back than written record shows. A new project proposal for a museum by Ljubljana-based firm, Enota, recommends covering the entire site with giant green roofed tent-like structures. This concept not only reinstates the green belt that once was the archeological site, but provides a protected, naturally daylit space in which to conduct research. Visitors of the Ptuj Archaeological Museum can peer in through the glass walled sides and see the ongoing activity.1

Ptuj Archaeological Museum-EnotaConstruction of the museum must carefully be designed around the dig sites as well as the historical buildings to safely maintain the integrity of all existing structures.13
Ptuj Archaeological Museum-EnotaExcavation and archeological activity must also be carefully balanced as to respect the site.14
