• 1,000s of subway Post-it Notes provide therapy for New Yorkers after Trump's election 0
While one of President-elect Trump's infamous walls has officially been scrapped (thank you snails!), another flat surface is providing some much-needed relief for those in New York who are still feeling the after-effects of Election Day. Started by artist Matthew "Levee" Chavez, Subway Therapy is a collection of thousands of colorful Post-it Notes that paper Manhattan's 14th Street/6th Avenue subway tunnel with messages of hope, distress, fear, strength and solidarity. The interactive art exhibit has been so popular that other New Yorkers have taken it upon themselves to spread the love to locations like Union Square and Brooklyn's Atlantic Terminal. Read on to see our short video about the Union Square subway therapy wall.

Chavez says that he began Subway Therapy as a way to "promote stress relief, [while] building community, inclusion, and peaceful expression."

As mundane a medium as it might seem, the multi-hued sticky notes have created quite a splash, and show how something so simple can become powerful in numbers.

When we visited the Union Square therapy wall, makeup artist Ish Peralta and model Emma Vega were conducting an interactive art installation of their own that asked straphangers to pen notes to be painted onto Vega's body.
