Downtown Mexico-Grupo HabitaOriginally built in the 17th century, the Palace of the Counts of Miravalle now has a new life as a luxe boutique hotel in Mexico City's historic center. Situated just two blocks from the center Plaza de la Constitucion, <a href="http://www.downtownmexico.com/main.html" target="_blank">Downtown Mexico</a> is the new hip place to be. <a href="http://www.grupohabita.mx/" target="_blank">Grupo Habita</a>, a hotelier who is making a name for itself with clever, eco-friendly accommodations like <a href="http://inhabitat.com/eco-hotel-endemico-is-a-gorgeous-eco-retreat-in-baja-mexico/" target="_blank">Hotel Endemico</a> in Baja, is responsible for this beautiful adaptive-reuse and restoration. The project was designed by <a href="http://www.cheremarquitectos.com/" target="_blank">Cherem Serrano Arquitectos</a>, with interior design by <a href="http://paulroco.com/">Paul Roco</a> and features 17 rooms, a hostel and a stunning rooftop terrace and pool.1
Downtown Mexico-Grupo HabitaThe Palace of the Counts of Miravalle is one of the oldest buildings in Mexico's historic center and was originally home to Don Alonso de Ulibarri Davalos Bracamontes and de la Cueva, who was chancellor of the Court of the Holy Cross of the Kingdom of New Spain.2
Downtown Mexico-Grupo HabitaThe space has seen multiple owners since then as well as numerous renovations over the years and now <a href="http://www.grupohabita.mx/" target="_blank">Grupo Habita</a> is bringing it into the 21st century.3
