Geeks from all around New York City gathered at Metropolitan Pavilion West last week for New York's first-ever getgeeked conference. The interactive event invited tech lovers to try out some of the latest electronic trends firsthand, as well as hear from entrepreneurs and brands making waves in the industry. From 3D-printing pens to tablets with their own built-in projectors, read on for some of the most useful innovations seen on the show floor.
    1
  • Lenovo Yoga Tablet Pro Built-In projector

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro
The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro's built-in projector eliminates the need to purchase a separate device for projecting large scale images and movies. The first of its kind in the industry, the projector (located discreetly on the side of the slim tablet) can project images up to 50" to turn any dark room into a theater on-the-go.

The device's kickstand also features an opening that can be used to hang it on a wall or in the backseat of a car in a totally different way.
    3
  • 3d Pen

3D-Printer Pen
If you're tired of limited your writing to flat surfaces, the Noodle 3D Pen can help you take your doodles into the next dimension by extruding filament in any direction you want to go.

  • 3d Pen Filament
The 3D Pen and refill filament can be purchased at the iMakr's website or at their physical stores.
    5
  • Boogie Board

Boogie Board
Etch-a-Sketch fans will appreciate the Boogie Board, a reusable digital notepad that still feels like writing on paper but without the waste. You can pretty much just use it like a regular notepad, and when you need a new page, just press a button to clear what you have written.

  • Boogie Board
The Boogie Board Sync models also allow you to save thousands of pages of notes and doodles to nearby Bluetooth devices or upload them to the cloud via Evernote.
    7
  • Staples Connect Hub

Staples Hub
Staples showed off their Connect Hub, which works as a "brain" for all of your home devices by linking them together and allowing you to control them via the Staples Connect app. Whether its your smart thermostat, your lighting or your entertainment system, the Connect Hub lets you group your enabled electronics right from your phone to carry out collaborative demands or use them individually.
    8
  • Flygrip

Flygrip
When we first saw the Flygrip, a thin piece of plastic that sticks on to the backs of larger phones to allow for one-handed usage, we were a bit skeptical. But after walking around getgeeked trying to snap cellphone photos while simultaneously recording video on a giant camera, the need for the product became pretty clear. Flygrip really does what it claims to do - you can easily check emails, tweet or take selfies with one hang and without fear of dropping your phone. Plus it's made in the United States in New York.
    9
  • 3d Selfie

3D Selfie
2D selfies are so 2013. If you're serious about your selfie game, step it up with iMakr's printed on-demand 3D portraits. OK so despite being included in this roundup, these are admittedly totally useless, but they do make unique (albeit creepy) gifts that certainly can't be called boring.
