Prefabulous Tree Top Cabin Goes Out on a Limb at Sweden’s Tree Hotel

Sometimes we go to sleep at night dreaming about all the beautiful places we write about and <a href="http://inhabitat.com/stunning-swedish-treehotel-opens-this-weekend/" target="_blank">Tree Hotel</a> is definitely one of those places we want to visit (hint, hint). The Cabin by Swedish architects <a href="http://www.cyren.se/" target="_blank">Cyrén &amp; Cyrén</a> is one of five amazing <a href="http://inhabitat.com/twiggy-bird-nest-suite-is-one-of-5-rooms-at-the-swedish-tree-hotel/">tree top rooms</a> you can stay in at Tree Hotel outside of Harads, northern Sweden. Just miles away from the Arctic Circle, the Cabin and the other four <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/prefab" target="_blank">prefabricated</a> hotel rooms enjoy views of the valley of the Lule River. 

Access to the Cabin is gained via a footbridge leading to a spacious deck on top of the actual living quarters.

The site for the room was chosen specifically for its high ground and steep slope to provide easier access to the room and dramatic views through the forest.

A cozy nook along the windows provides a place to sit and look at the trees.

The shape of the deck was designed around the space between the trees and then the room is suspended the deck, which helps it appear smaller and hidden.

Long windows provide lots of daylight and views into the trees.

Designed as a capsule with rounded corners, the room is meant to look foreign amongst the tall trees.

A steep staircase from the deck leads down into the room below, which contains a small bathroom under the stairs, a double bed and sitting area.

The room's facade is rather unconventional and is made from engineered fabrics used on lorries and trailer covers.

Prefabricated off site then trucked to the hotel's location, the Cabin was then raised into the trees and set into place.
