Lovely Stacked Wood Outdoor Theater in Estonia Will Be Recycled After 12 Plays

A fantastic example of sustainable set design, the Noor Eesti Scenery summer theater in Estonia is constructed entirely out of <a href="http://inhabitat.com/new-submission-80/">light timber batons</a> that are easy to assemble and weatherproof. Designed by <a href="http://kta.ee/">Kadarik Tüür Arhitektid</a> as a temporary structure, the 420 seat theater will be taken apart and reused for other purposes at the end of the summer or after 12 plays.

This temporary theater was designed for one Estonia summer.

It is constructed out of lightweight timber batons.

Which is both easy to work with and weatherproof.

At the end of the season, the theater will be completely dismantled.

And the materials will be recycled.

Further enhancing the beautiful natural backdrop and the stage setting,

The set design incorporates the adjoining trees, pond, and park.

The theater has enough seating for 420 people.

And fills up an area of 280 square meters.

The timber slats are 50x50 mm.

Combined with the natural setting, the timber creates a closed and intimate ambience.

This theater in Estonia evokes an important historical epoch.

And attempts to reflect the mood of early 20th century Europe without creating an undue impact on the environment. We love it.
