Paper Dandy horror movie cut-outsPaper artist <a href="http://www.paperdandy.co.uk/">Marc Hagan-Guirey</a>, also known as the Paper Dandy, has transposed his life-long obsession with cult classic horror films with his love of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirigami" target="_blank">kirigami</a>—the <a href="http://inhabitat.com/skeletons-and-saints-emerge-from-a-single-piece-of-paper-in-peter-callesens-artworks/" target="_blank">art of paper cutting</a>. His new project, dubbed Horrorgami, transforms thirteen sheets of paper into thirteen iconic homes from horror movies- from the Addam’s Family mansion to The Shining’s Overlook Hotel. The series also captures the homes from cult classics Amityville Horror, Rosemary’s Baby, Ghostbusters, House on Haunted Hill, Psycho, Dracula, The Haunting, Beetlejuice and the Munsters. The dazzling horrorgami pieces aptly come in an edition of 13, and they will be on display at <a href="http://www.one-and-a-half.com/" target="_blank">Gallery One and a Half</a> starting November 1 st.1

Horrorgami Marc Hagan-GuireyDuring daylight, the sculptural buildings seem unimposing, and almost innocent in gleaming whites. But under darkness, Hagan-Guirey illuminates each work in haunting hues of blues and blood red.6

Hagan-Guirey carefully cut each of the iconic locations <a href="http://inhabitat.com/annie-voughts-lace-like-paper-art-works-highlight-the-intricacies-of-the-written-word/annie-vought-cut-paper6/" target="_blank">from one single sheet of A4 paper</a>, turning a flat surface into a three dimensional work.7

Paper Dandy’s first Horrorgami project is dedicated to the haunted houses in thirteen of history’s greatest horror films.8
