Millions of LED Lights Transform Japanese Botanical Garden Into a Winter Wonderland

Japan’s <a href="http://www.nagashima-onsen.co.jp/nabana/illumination/index.html/" target="_blank">Nabana no Sato Botanical Garden</a> has been transformed into a gorgeous <a href="http://inhabitat.com/atlantas-botanical-garden-is-a-glowing-winter-wonderland-with-recyclable-led-topiary/" target="_blank">illuminated winter wonderland</a>! The grounds now sparkle with millions of dazzling <a href="http://inhabitat.com/bruce-munros-gorgeous-fields-of-led-flowers-bloom-at-longwood-gardens/" target="_blank">LED lights</a> that create luminous landscapes and awe-inspiring tunnels throughout the gardens and botanical ponds.

Located on the island of Nagashima in Kuwana, Nabana no Sato’s <a href="http://inhabitat.com/the-great-crate-is-an-led-illuminated-living-sculpture-of-25000-edible-plants-in-sydney/" target="_blank">light installation</a> is the toast of Japan - it has nabbed the title of "best light show in the country".

Visitors enter the fantastical installation through a cobwebbed tunnel of glittering lights.

Another dazzling tunnel replicates a swirling rainbow, fusing all colors to light the twisting path.

The epic 'Mt. Fuji at dawn' installation is rendered in light on the grounds of the botanical garden with <a href="http://inhabitat.com/bruce-munros-field-of-light-in-melbourne/" target="_blank">fields of green, blue and pink LED lights</a> representing the changing morning light.

Violet lights rise in the shape of Mt. Fuji at a distance. Even the auroras borealis are mimicked in a mesh of purples and blues.

The gorgeous winter illuminations will be on display at the Nabana no Sato Botanical Garden until March 31, 2013.
