• Yotel Manhattan
Yotel is known for being a futuristic place to spend the night in NYC's Times Square nabe, but did you know that it's also LEED Gold-certified? The green building features flight-themed rooms, art-lined halls and views of Midtown, while also helping out the planet. Inhabitat recently spent a night in one of Yotel's comfy beds. Read on to see what we thought about the experience!

Guests are greeted by Yotel’s famous luggage toting robot at the Tenth Avenue entrance, which introduces the futuristic feel of the hotel with the 20 foot tall robotic arm that safely stores suitcases and bags for early guests.

Automatic check in kiosks also greet visitors on the ground floor. If human interaction is needed or wanted, guests can jet up to Four, where Mission Control welcomes guests as they get off the elevator.

Four is also home to a restaurant, bar, outdoor terrace and temporary interactive LEGO wall.

Guest cabins range from singles to sprawling suites, each with impeccable views of Midtown Manhattan, each with an underlying (and pleasantly kitschy) airport theme, with important airport information available on each television.

Occupancy sensors keep power usage low, turning on low usage LED lights only when guests are in their rooms.
6

Yotel’s heat recovering system captures exhaust air and recycles its heat and humidity back into the system.

A rainwater harvesting system collects water to be used in the hotel, and to irrigate the plants on the terraces. A hotel-wide recycling system coincides with using suppliers that use minimal packaging and recycled materials, and even the in-room pens are made from recycled paper.

The spacey Yotel is not only a unique accommodation with high design, but also a leader in sustainability in hospitality.
