Bercy Chen Studio’s Cylindrical Boat House in Austin Has its Own Waterfall

The <a href="http://bcarc.com/Project/shore-vista-boat-dock/Images/911">Shore Vista Boat Dock</a> is a unique boathouse designed by <a title="Bizarre House by Bercy Chen Studio Has its Own Private Cascade " href="http://bcarc.com/" target="_blank">Bercy Chen Studio</a> on the edge of Texas’ Lake Austin. The two-story structure has an elliptical footprint, with large windows that provide stunning 360-degree views of the lake below. But the feature that caught our attention is the manmade waterfall that cascades down from the second-floor balcony.

Bercy Chen Studio’s bizarre shelter consists of two elliptical floors with a swirling staircase around it.

Its lower level has a wooden deck mainly used for lounging next to the water and keeping sheltered a small yacht under its roof.

Its most remarkable feature is a decorative cascade that -- presumably – takes the water from the lake and returns it back to it creating a strange dazzling spectacle.

Glazed all around it, the top floor has amazing views into the lake and surrounding Canyonland Nature Preserve.

A curved glass balustrade surrounds the first floor deck, where the light plays with the water and glass creating unique motives.

Bizarre and a bit ugly, Shore Vista Boat Dock is a unique piece of architecture that landed on a beautiful peaceful environment.
