But what he's really into is materials experimentation. For his 'Masks' project, Pot started stitching standard ropes in an attempt to create colorful, flat <a title="Bertjan Pot´s Rope Masks Are Beautiful Yet Terrifying " href="http://inhabitat.com/jo-meesters-turns-old-woolen-blankets-into-blooming-floral-carpets/" target="_blank">carpets</a>. But the samples he was sewing started to get curvy, and just when he was about to give up, he decided to turn them into these delightful yet terrifying masks!1
