Blu Homes’ Sidebreeze is a 2,600 sq ft prefab home with 3 or 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in a stacked configuration attached to the spacious central Breezespace™. The living room has 12 ft ceilings and glass walls that allow residents to take in the view from multiple sides. The stacked portion of the home features the kitchen and dining areas as well as the private bedrooms, and an airy master bedroom is cantilevered over the bottom floor. This new configuration of the Breezehouse is great for those who have narrower lots, but still want the same airy feel. Owners can also use the Sidebreeze in conjunction with Blu Homes’ other modular units like their Garage or Origin models for guest units like the house shown above.

“We listened to the thousands of customers who have toured our homes, participated in our webinars and visited the Breezehouse we built with Sunset magazine, and our updated version of the celebrated Sidebreeze incorporates dozens of changes they recommended,” said Blu Homes creative director and Sidebreeze lead architect Karl Daubmann. “We preserved the high ceilings and sun-filled open spaces that mark the Breezehouse, while building a spacious home that highlights the best of California design sensibility. Uniquely versatile, the Sidebreeze will fit as seamlessly into a narrow beachfront lot in Southern California as it will the suburbs of the East Coast or the slopes of a Colorado mountainside.”

Blu Homes is now offering the Sidebreeze for $590,000 ($625,000 in CA and Canada), and will be hosting webinars to discuss the new model at the end of this month (see website for details). As with all Blu Homes, the Sidebreeze features recycled steel framing, radiant heat flooring, high R-value walls and energy-efficient appliances. Owners can also achieve Net Zero energy status, Energy Star rating or LEED for Homes certification.
