Brooklyn Bridge Park Unveils 10 Designs to Turn Dilapidated Warehouses into Greenery-Filled Destinations

    Brooklyn Bridge Park has plans to turn seven crumbling brick warehouses that once housed coffee, spices and other dry goods into a mixed-use development consisting of office and commercial space as well as <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/new-gowanus-whole-foods-will-have-rooftop-farm-operated-by-gotham-greens/">rooftop farms</a> and terraces. Ten prominent developers from around the world are vying for the opportunity to push their proposed projects to fruition and <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/bouncy-squibb-park-pedestrian-bridge-opens-as-connection-to-brooklyn-bridge-park/">Brooklyn Bridge Park</a> recently released beautiful renderings of each one.     Team One's rooftop rendering creates a dynamic open public space that combines natural wood beam elements with glass to offer a unique experience for guests enjoying city views.

    Team Two combines the indoors with the outdoors and features roof top gardens, a dynamic lounge area and sweeping views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Skyline.

    Team Three's proposal features a lush array of rooftop trees and small gardens as well as outdoor public seating for lounging and enjoying views of the park.

    Team Four has designed an indoor boxing feature that pays homage to the sport. Each level offers seating for ease of viewing the boxing "ring" and connecting with other visitors.

    Team Five's proposal consists of floor to ceiling windows that open up to a public terrace space complete with seating, and a few touches of greenery.

    Team Six's design maintains the integrity of the original warehouses and adds a collection of rooftop greenhouses as well as paths lined with ample touches of green space.

    Team Seven's rendering offers a green rooftop space accompanied by an indoor/outdoor feature for enjoying views of the Manhattan skyline.

    Team Eight's proposal includes a multi-story rooftop feature designed with lounge space, a tech center, a terrace for enjoying the views and an open green space.
