The lower part of the room has plenty of storage and is perfect for an office or library. The extra floor space invites a comfortable sitting chair or room for indoor exercise. Stacked atop this area is the lofted bedroom, equipped with extra shelving and a view of the night sky through carefully-placed skylights. Safety is not forgotten in the design, as carefully placed netting prevents anyone from toppling over.

One main theme of the design is eliminating wasted space. The downstairs walls are lined with bookshelves, yet each nook and cranny of the loft also features shelving and storage. All this is done while maintaining a bright and inviting atmosphere. The glass flooring of the loft allows light upstairs and eases claustrophobia, while the skylight’s shine can be felt in all reaches of the room. This grown-up loft is a marvel of well-used space.
