Giant Salvaged Wood Sculptures by Robots>>>> Ascend the Hayward Gallery on London’s South Bank

This summer London’s <a title="Robots&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt; Create Recycled Wooden People That Climb London's Hayward Gallery!" href="http://world.southbankcentre.co.uk/" target="_blank">South Bank</a>— a bustling area along the River Thames—was host to an extraordinary array of events and installations for the Festival of the World. Towering above it all were some monstrous men made from salvaged wood. Ascending the outer walls of the Hayward Gallery, the figures were created by London art collective <a title="Robots&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt; Create Recycled Wooden People That Climb London's Hayward Gallery!" href="http://www.giantrobots.co.uk/#_" target="_blank">Robots&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;</a>.

Robots&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt; is a London-based art collective that builds large-scale sculpture from recycled and repurposed scrap.

Designers, artists, engineers and art directors work together to create dramatic sculptures for both private clients and public organizations around the globe.

Working on the premise that "one man's rubbish is another man's gold", Robots&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt; creates amazing huge creatures influenced by nature, science and comics.

The giant robots climbing on the Southbank are crafted from recycled wood and reclaimed steel.

They were created with the help of kids at the Oasis Children's Venture, a safe play space for young people in the London borough of Lambeth.

But these wooden men are not just decoration, they encourage people to look up and see the sky.
