Unfortunately, when we say “dream,” we mean that literally. The beautiful Volkswagen Aqua Hovercraft hybrid vehicle won’t be coming to market any time soon, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth an ogle. Designed by 21-year-old Yuhan Zhang, the hydrogen-electric future-craft is powered by four electric motorized fans that provide lift and thrust, and it is kept aloft by a hydrogen fuel cell engine.
It would seem Mr. Zhang hasn’t put quite as much thought into ingress and egress as he has to propulsion and curvy looks — the only way in and out of this baby is through a tank-like hatch. But we can still see this concept being adapted for real-world applications at some point — in the future, anyway. But don’t overthink it.
