Three years ago, when we first posted these images of a lake-like Times Square, a flooded 5th Avenue and a waterlogged Garment District, we viewed them as a haunting visual prediction of our distant future. Now, less than a week after Hurricane Sandy took her toll on the East Coast, they're hitting a lot closer to home. Times Square isn't actually filled with gondolas, but people kayaking the streets of Staten Island doesn't seem too far off.
