Good news for animals: historic dairy farm goes vegan

Vermont-based Ben & Jerry's announced their vegan ice cream flavors this week.

The historic Lewis Oliver Dairy Farm on Long Island is now an animal sanctuary selling vegan desserts.

This is Ezra, the prize-winning alpaca who lives at the farm sanctuary.

Sheep and chickens are among other rescued critters at the sanctuary.

Sweet Annabelle's, a line of vegan ice creams, cakes, and cookies, is the brainchild of Lorene Eriksen, who runs the sanctuary.

Animal sanctuaries are popping up all across America, and one of the newest comes with a pretty amazing back story. The historic Lewis Oliver Farm located in Long Island, New York started as a dairy farm around 1890.
