• Kubik Vienna
We've covered Balestra Berlin's glowing modular Kubik party venues made of recycled water tanks before, but their latest is the very first one they've presented in the winter time. Set against a very famous Gothic backdrop in Vienna, the Votivkirche, the illuminated and futuristic structure attracts revelers to step into its walls stacked high with everyday ordinary water tanks. Just like other Kubik installations, the lights inside the tanks flash and fade with the beat of the music, making for one very festive holiday celebration!

The latest light room installation was created by Balestra Berlin in conjunction with Festakt Eventagentur and glows a jolly red that is in keeping with the season.

152 disused water tanks were positioned on a 1m high podium to create the illuminated room, which uses arches as its primary architectural form.

Two industrial containers placed at opposing ends of the podium hold the bars and DJ & VJ booths.

Each container is wrapped with the recycled water tanks that extend into a tunnel of archways, all separated by a symmetrical distance.

The overhead structures give visitors a sense of being enveloped in a room underneath a glowing ceiling of square lights.

Like all Kubik parties, this one is temporary, so if you're in Austria, definitely swing by the Votivkirche to check it out. The last date to visit will be December 31, when the space will close with what we're sure will be a killer New Years Eve bash.
