Nanjing, China Master Plan Could Be Largest Green Development In the World

    Lately China has ramped up their <a href="http://inhabitat.com/china-planning-to-construct-a-mega-city-the-size-of-switzerland/">sustainable development</a> to the extent that entire eco cities will soon be built under the banner of <a href="http://inhabitat.com/uc-davis-modern-student-health-center-targets-leed-gold/">LEED certification</a>. A new master plan for Nanjing by <a href="http://www.ckdesignworks.com/urban_planning/china/project1.php" target="_blank">CK Designworks</a> calls for the creation of 20 square kilometers of green development in Pukou district of Nanjing in the Jiangsu province. The plan is set to be the world's largest green development -- it includes ten landmark towers, residences for 200,000 people, industrial developments and commercial sectors that will all be connected by a monorail.
