MTA agrees to study resurrection of Rockaway train line

According to NY1, the MTA has agreed to study the feasibility of reopening the Rockaway Beach rail line.

The line, which initially ran from Rego Park to Rockaway, hasn't been used for more than 50 years and has had a lot of support over the years to be converted into a High-Line style park.

Local advocates have been pushing to reopen the old rail line in order to provide more transportation options and alleviate heavy traffic congestion in the area.
