MVRDV, Shigeru Ban and More Create Architecture For Dogs—With DIY Instructions

    Shigeru Ban designed a flexible dog space by using his trademark recycled cardboard tubes in a design that can be transformed from a bed to a swing to a maze, and even a chair or table.

    Torafu Architects designed a hammock for a Jack Russell Terrier using an old piece of clothing from the pup's human friend, as this breed is said to be the happiest when its close to its human friend.

    Sou Fujimoto created a smaller version of his House NA in Tokyo for a Boston terrier, which consists of a scaffolding-like structure that has no walls, plenty of fresh air and light, and even doubles as a storage unit.

    Dutch studio MVRDV came out with a playful doghouse for a Beagle that started with an archetypical shape and end up as both a hideaway and interactive toy.

    Toyo Ito’s Mobile Home for Shiba was conceived as a “doghouse for walks” allowing people to get out with their best friend whether it's raining, too hot or even if the dog is too old to walk.

    Konstantin Grcic’s Paramount was designed so Toy Poodles can look themselves in the mirror, as they are said to be notoriously finicky about their looks and are one of the few breeds to recognize themselves in a mirror.
