Fitting a bed, a desk, a dining table, a bar and a couch into just 240 square feet may sound like an impossibility, but Resource Furniture recently proved that it could be done - and with style, to boot. The brand's "Hotel Resource" exhibit at last week's inaugural Dwell on Design NY show set out to demonstrate how even the tiniest accommodations could provide travelers with luxury and functionality. Inhabitat had a chance to stop by Resource's booth and check out the new line of transforming, multi-purpose furniture within. Flip through our gallery for a glimpse inside Hotel Resource and find some inspiration for your own small space.

Resource Furniture brought Hotel Resource to New York to show that even tiny accommodations can be comfortable and utilitarian spaces.

While the exhibit looked like a typical hotel room (minus the bed) at first glance, we were impressed to see what the 240-square-foot unit had up its sleeve.

Guests at the booth were greeted by an over-sized table of mimosas that you typically wouldn't be able to find in a smaller hotel room.

With enough room and chairs to seat six or to spread out and finish a big work project, the surface folds up conveniently and back under the Smart Living media center's rotating television panel.

When you're done eating or working, just slide the table back under the media center.

While the space was set up as a living area when we first got there, it took just a few moved cushions and a flick of the wrist to flip a spacious queen bed down from the wall.

Called the Tango, the sofa/flip-down bed system by Clei even features a locked position shelf that ensures contents do not get disturbed while opening and closing the bed.

    Just pull it down...

    And voila - a bed!

The showspace also debuted three pieces from the new Kinetic Collection, a collaboration between Resource Furniture and Brooklyn-based design studio Think Fabricate.

Lift is a coffee table with a flip-up top that becomes a work station and hidden storage space for remotes, laptops and magazines.

Hide & Seek is a modular, customizable, wall-mounted cabinet system.

And finally, Slide is a credenza with a hidden mini fridge and storage drawers. All three pieces are designed and made proudly in Brooklyn.
