The new facilities will include a number of standard elements such as a main academic building, administration offices, an assembly hall, and plenty of parking. But the complex will also offer an impressive state-of-the-art training campus that will include onsite firearms, tactics and driver training facilities, physical training buildings, a field house, a tactical village, and outdoor training grounds. Although the project is currently tracking for LEED Gold certification, all of the buildings on the 35-acre site will be built to at least LEED Silver specifications.
Although the training facility’s sustainability features are sure to impress, they won’t stop at the door. According to the architects, the master plan not only involves a “comprehensive sustainability approach” aimed at achieving LEED certification, and also contains measures to improve the existing site and neighborhood conditions for years to come.
