Hotel Tantalo<a href="http://www.tantalohotel.com/" target="_blank">Tantalo Hotel</a> in Panama City is the latest eco-luxe hotel chock full of art, repurposed furniture and sustainable design. The <a href="http://inhabitat.com/swedens-luxurious-hotel-furillen-is-set-within-a-renovated-limestone-refinery/" target="_blank">boutique hotel</a> brightens a corner in the Casco Viejo neighborhood, and features a <a href="http://inhabitat.com/torontos-corus-quay-building-boasts-a-5-story-living-wall-and-indoor-slide/" target="_blank">two story living wall</a> in the hotel’s daylit atrium. Coupled with a rooftop bar and artist-designed rooms, the Tantalo is a welcome hot spot for luxury eco-tourism.1
Hotel TantaloThe hotel’s incredible living wall is stocked full of lush native plants- 983 different species to be exact. The wall, which was installed by <a href="http://www.aqua-terra.ws" target="_blank">Aqua Terra</a>, is irrigated by recycled rainwater that is collected from the skylights which flood natural light into the atrium.2

Hotel TantaloThe Tantalo Kitchen restaurant and rooftop bar were both built from reclaimed wood from the Panama Canal, tying in a sense of history with their sustainable mission. Recycled newspapers and phonebooks keep the hotel nice and cool, functioning as insulation in the structural walls.5
