The modern 2,400-square-foot eco home has a compact footprint on its wooded location at the north end of the Hood Canal. Finne Architects took advantage of the waterfront setting and sited the home to take advantage of the views.

To reduce the home's impact Finne Architects incorporated a number of strategies - like solar passive design, which allows the home to take in natural daylighting, but protects it from too much direct light.

The home was built using 2x8 frame construction that increases the project's insulation value by 40%.

Natural ventilation provides cooling as needed during the summer months and a heat pump mechanical system provides heating for maximum energy efficiency.

Large roof overhangs prevent overheating and provide protection from the rain.

Durable and sustainable materials like recycled steel, linoleum floors, low-VOC paints, and natural wool carpet grace the home.
