The whole process starts with a special extra fine peeler that removes only the most aromatic, intense top layer of the fruit or vegetable (the lower, white layer is bitter). The peels are then dried in stackable wooden boxes that keep them crunchy and full of color and flavor. Once ground, the tasty aromatic bits can be used to enhance the flavors of meals and drinks and even make tea.
Peelpride was Rianne Koens’ graduation project when she was student at the renowned Design Academy of Eindhoven.
