The project aims to educate people on ecology and sustainability, and create an interactive exhibition space that will showcase the beauty of nature from different perspectives.

Different ecosystems will allow visitors to explore the Earth. In the tropical rainforest they will experience the importance of biodiversity, the high-tech agricultural area will provide insights into efficient, sustainable food production, while the subterranean level will be inhabited by fungi and bacteria.

In addition to its cultural role, the palace will also house an incubator space where entrepreneurs, scientists and students can learn and develop ideas.

“The world is facing pressure from increasingly larger and more complex problems when it comes to water, food, climate and energy. Eden Soestdijk wants to tackle these problems and contribute to a more sustainable society by stimulating and inspiring visitors to change their behavior in a positive way,” said Anton Valk, chairman of the Eden Soestdijk foundation.
