Woodlands Residence by Field Architecture<a href="http://fieldarchitecture.com/residential/woodlandsresidence/">Field Architecture</a>'s renovated Woodlands Residence does an amazing job of capturing <a href="http://inhabitat.com/green-roofed-washington-weaving-studio-is-a-daylit-dream/?utm_source=web&utm_medium=twitter">dappled light</a> that pierces through a canopy of trees, ensuring that it requires zero artificial illumination throughout the day. Built on the side of a very steep slope populated with Oak and Redwood trees, the home has been renovated with modern "bookend" additions on either side that retain the character of the mid-century California structure.1
