NY Waterways' <a href="http://www.eastriverferry.com" target="_blank">East River Ferry</a> has sent us word that they'll be waiving the $1 bicycle fee for those traveling to <a href="http://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/summerstreets/html/home/home.shtml" target="_blank">the summer festival</a> this weekend and will also waive it on the following Summer Street Saturday: August 18. The City of New York and Billybey Ferry Company, which operates the service, recently announced the addition of 399-passenger boats on summer weekends, and the free ride is a great way for New Yorkers to discover the convenience of taking the ferry with their bikes as opposed to lugging them around the subway or driving them in a car.1
