- Ventura Lambrare Milan 2012The <a href="http://www.venturaprojects.com/">Ventura Lambrate</a> district was a treasure chest for green designs at this year's <a href="http://www.inhabitat.com/milan-furniture-fair">Milan Furniture Fair</a>. Filling out showrooms and shelves, sustainable design was clearly on the minds of those who presented their works to the thousands of enthusiasts and oglers in the city. Students and designers presented a wide range of products that signaled a new wave of innovation for feasible and sustainable design solutions for the real world. Through recreating, recycling, and reinterpretation, all these works made Ventura Lambrate the brightest district of the bunch. Jump ahead for some of our favorite pieces on show!1
- Ento by Julene Aguirre, Jacky Chung, Aran Dasan and Jonathan FraserEnto by Julene Aguirre, Jacky Chung, Aran Dasan and Jonathan Fraser from <a href="http://rca.ac.uk/">RCA,</a> is a project investigating the nutritional value of eating of insects. The project examines and how they are processed in our body compared to meat, and the designers present a series of "recipes" for their use.2
- Gaspard Tiné-Berès Shoes<a href="http://paradise.rca.ac.uk/?tag=gaspard-tine-beres">Gaspard Tiné-Berès</a> has turns flat-packable fabric into a practical shoe. His project explores cost-efficient ways to produce footwear, even on a small scale production.3
- Kami Lights by Ett la bennThese Kami Lights by <a href="http://www.ettlabenn.com/">Ett la benn</a> have been constructed from cellulose.4
- Light drops by e27Light drop by <a href="http://www.e27.com/">e27 </a>is a series of objects made from perforated metal plates typically used for building facades in architecture.5
- Plant Your Chair at Ventura Lambrate Milan"Plant Your Chair" is a radical way of producing a chair in a nature. Depending less on mechanics and more on natural processes, the chair comes with an ever-changing story, making it a poetic piece.6
- Jose de la O Glass BulbsInspired by the way pedlars on the street scare away flies, Mexico-born <a href="http://www.josedelao.com">Jose de la O</a> made these beautiful glass containers to mimic the process.7
- vicky lamp by Jose de la O<a href="http://www.josedelao.com">Jose de la O</a> also showed off his Vicky Lamp, a gorgeous lamp that not only provides a source of light, but a space for growing food.8
- Polyfloss FactoryThe<a href="http://www.thepolyflossfactory.com/"> Polyfloss Factory</a> is a micro-manufacturing machine that transforms plastic waste into a foam-like material called "polyfloss". The machine uses the same principles of a candy floss machine, creating a playful way to deal with serious problems.9
- Soft Lamp by Annebet PhilipsThis textile Soft Lamp is created by fashion designer<a href="http://www.annebetphilips.blogspot.com/">Annebet Philips</a>. Its soft, warm and playful character invites you to interact with. The lamp uses LED bulbs.10
