Flotane-LJBThe sturdy and cube-like Flotane is a rest stop and bathroom located on the Aurlandsfjellet plateau on a popular tourist route in Norway. Situated at 1,200 meters in the midst of a dramatic and harsh landscape, the toilets are covered by snow for 8 months a year. When summer comes though, tourists frequent the road and the rest stop is a popular starting point for hikes in the area. Designed by Lars Berge of LJB, Flotane is oriented to maximize its sun exposure and is completely powered by solar panels.1
