  • Low Line Interview Inhabitat
By now, you've probably heard of the High Line, but did you know that there is also an underground park called the <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/video-interview-inhabitat-interviews-the-designers-of-new-york-citys-low-line-underground-park/">LowLine </a>proposed for downtown Manhattan? It may have seemed like a pipe dream at first but with many residents backing the project and New Yorkers in awe of what a <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/video-interview-inhabitat-interviews-the-designers-of-new-york-citys-low-line-underground-park/">subterranean park</a> could mean for the city, the <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/video-interview-inhabitat-interviews-the-designers-of-new-york-citys-low-line-underground-park/">LowLine</a> is picking up speed and could soon bring an amazing new public space (not to mention added revenue for the city) to the <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/lower-east-side-ecology-center-opens-permanent-e-waste-drop-off-depot-in-gowanus/" target="_blank">Lower East Side</a> .

  • The Low Line Underground Park
When we first heard about the underground New York City park called the Low Line last year, it was not much more than a brilliant idea and some provocative CAD renderings. Now fast-forward eight months and this ambitious project has really gathered steam, and is well on its way to becoming more than a pipe dream. • The Low Line Underground Park
The subterranean park, if constructed, would occupy an abandoned train track below Delancey Street in New York City’s historic Lower East Side neighborhood, and would bring greenery into a crowded, dense neighborhood that is generally lacking in both public space and green space.
