Chris Anderson, a graphic design student from Wollongong, is collecting 1000 old and broken surfboards to create a “Surfboard Graveyard” as an awareness campaign about the unsustainable materials and waste involved in the surfboard industry. Aiming to install the boards like tombstones in a graveyard on Garie Beach, Australia, Anderson will also have the campaign photographed as an art exhibit. Garie Beach is located in the Royal National Park between Southern Sydney and Wollongong, and Chris will be working with the rangers to legally install and photograph the surfboards on the beach.
