Urban chickens have an elegant new housing option thanks to this awesome solar-powered coop we came across this week at ICFF. RAAD studio from New York City has taken a departure from its usual style to create a thoughtful product that amateur urban farmers will love. Shipped flat packed and easily assembled in one afternoon, the luxury chicken coop has every feature a chicken needs to roost happily and lay delicious urban farm-fresh eggs.

Solar energy is used to circulate air through the coop, which also features storage space for bedding and food, a comfortable perch for roosting, four private laying units that are easily accessible, and a slide out chicken run that facilitates easy cleaning. A rising number of city dwellers are choosing to raise their own chickens; RAAD has capitalized on this with a product that ensures maximum comfort for both the birds and the people with minimum fuss.

This looks great, but do I understand it correctly that the chickens are supposed to stay in that Coop all their life? I don’t know if those chickens could be called happy then :-/
    But maybe I just misunderstood?

I’m trying to figure out why it says Co-Op instead of coop?
