It's luxe camper living at its best in the <a href="http://www.huettenpalast.de/" target="_blank">Hüttenpalast</a>, a new budget hotel in Berlin situated inside a former vacuum-cleaner factory. <a href="http://inhabitat.com/mysterious-floating-campground-pops-up-in-holland/">Old campers</a> were renovated and pimped out into cute little rooms all tucked neatly inside the <a href="http://inhabitat.com/old-factory-transformed-into-a-modern-loft-by-zecc-architects/">old factory</a>. No need to worry about leaks here. The hotel opened earlier this month and includes a cafe, a sunny courtyard, renovated campers (or caravans if that's what you call 'em) and <a href="http://inhabitat.com/sustainably-built-swamp-huts-light-up-like-glowing-lanterns-amid-the-surrounding-forest/">wooden huts</a> you can spend the night in for a reasonable rate of 30€ per person.

  • Hüttenpalast
Hüttenpalast, or the Hut Palace, is a small hotel in the Neukölln neighborhood in southern Berlin.
    2
  • Hüttenpalast
The masterminds behind the project wanted to share their neighborhood with tourists and give them a cool place to hang out, which is why they took over an old factory with an outdoor courtyard.

t the heart of the project is the old production hall, which is now a 200 sq meter 'playground' filled with an indoor garden, renovated caravans and wooden huts you can sleep in.

All of the accommodations were designed and built by local artists and designers.

The hotel is a parody on the German ‘Schrebergartenglück’ (the joy of spending some time in a small garden plot in the middle of many other small garden plots).

Guests of the hotel can sit on the lawn furniture and walk around in their flip flops even in the middle of the winter.

If camping, even if it is indoors, isn't quite your style, the hotel also has 6 real rooms with en-suite bathrooms and the original impressive high-ceilinged, long-windowed factory architecture.

The hotel can also be rented out for event space, parties or exhibitions.

The campers sit next to constructed wooden huts.

The interior of one of the huts is paneled with white-washed scrap wood.

This hut was built inside the factory space and is just big enough for a bed and storage.

Communal bathrooms are available for the guests of the campers and huts.

An outdoor garden and courtyard connect the accommodations with the hotel's cafe in the front house, which offers pastry breakfasts, coffee and a weekly changing lunch menu that focuses on regional and seasonal products.
