The Container House was designed by M2ATK for an artist client who asked for the ground floor to be a living room and kitchen, the second level to be the bedroom and the top floor to be a studio in which “to let to fly the imagination.” One whole side of each container has been opened up to allow for daylight to spill generously into each room, making for a peaceful and relaxing environment conducive to creativity.
Instead of simply stacking all 3 shipping containers right on top on one another, M2ATK staggered them slightly, creating terrace-like areas on the second and third levels and a shaded overhang for the first level. The Container House is fully equipped with heating, a bathroom, a kitchen and climate control systems. Since the home consists if just three containers, it’s easy to install and can be removed if the property is ever sold.

Very chic, modern, and sustainable – my only concern would be insulation. To me, it looks like the ultimate hot box torture, like living in a microwave or something!
