Runway 34: Recycled Airplane Restaurant Serves up First Class Meals in Zurich

by , 05/27/11

green design, eco design, sustainable design, Soviet Iluyshin IL-14, Zurich, Zurich International Airport, Runway 34, airplane restaurant, Switzerland, The Hangar Restaurant

The main eating area is called The Hangar Restaurant. Tables are positioned in front of the plane and under the propellers and engines. The Wingwalker Bar comes complete with repurposed in-flight chairs and offers impressive views through floor-to-ceiling windows.

Runway 34 is an innovative and unique experience. The menu of Asian, Swiss and Mediterranean cuisine certainly sounds far better than the average in-flight meal!
