The concept of

The Cube was to create a lightweight restaurant that could easily be assembled and disassembled in order to travel around Europe and find a new location on top of important monuments and spectacular locations. In each location, top chefs from the area would be asked to prepare special menus and cook for clients. The project showcases architecture, luxurious kitchen design, the city and the chefs in a unique way. Designed by Park Associati for Electrolux, the mobile restaurant is lightweight and covered in a white, laser-cut, aluminum skin that works to maximize daylight and views while reducing solar heat gain.

The 140 sq meter restaurant is divided between the open space and a 50 sq meter terrace. Inside the kitchen is open to the dinners so they can see the action and the large dining table disappears after dinner when it is raised into the ceiling to make more space for lounging and after dinner socializing. The materials are highly innovative in terms of technology, eco-sustainability and energy saving, as well as constantly reusable.

The Cube in Milano will be open until April 26, 2012 and reservations for up to 18 can be made through Electrolux.
