<a href="http://www.wemakecarpets.nl">WE MAKE CARPETS</a> will completely transform the way you see ordinary household objects such as dish sponges, plastic bottles, nuts and bolts and even pasta. Frustrated by our disposable society, the Dutch art collective comprised of Marcia Nolte, stijn van der Vleuten and Bob Wardenburg started <a href="http://inhabitat.com/traditional-weaving-is-reinvented-with-amazing-installations-by-we-make-carpets/">arranging seemingly mundane items</a> into eye-popping designs that burst with color and originality. They've been doing this for several years now, but a handful of new pieces are definitely worth a gander.

The installations range in size from small to large

Thumbtack carpet is comprised of hundreds of colorful thumbtacks arranged in a fun pattern

The Candybar carpet is made with a whole lot of - you guessed it - candy!

The Coffee carpet is made with cups of coffee with varying amounts of milk used to change their color

Amazingly, the smallest interventions can completely shift our perspective of a thing
