We've seen many amazing prefab homes, but none have a vertical garden on both sides of one wall like the "Green Box" by Luis de Garrido. Although impressive in itself, that is not the project's only unique eco feature. In addition to a landscaped roof with a 12 degree angle that gives the home continuity with its surrounding landscape, it relies completely on solar and geothermal energy for its cooling and heating needs and boasts an infinite lifecycle! That's right: the "Green Box" can be assembled, erected, dismantled, and transported as many times as necessary ad infinitum, effectively slashing the necessity for any new construction. This one was constructed in Barcelona in 2009.
