#MylegomasterpieceInstead of putting up a run-of-the-mill "Pardon our appearance" sign, Midtown Manhattan's <a href="http://www.yotel.com/" target="_blank">YOTEL Hotel</a> has decided to disguise their renovations with a giant, interactive <a href="http://inhabitat.com/npire-uses-55000-legos-to-create-a-funky-pixelated-room-divider/npire-lego-wall-hamburg-2/" target="_blank">LEGO wall</a>! Designed by Floyd Hayes, the bricktacular, 30-ft-long surface is covered with a rainbow of the <a href="http://inhabitat.com/stunning-lego-rivendell-replica-is-built-with-over-200000-bricks/" target="_blank">famous plastic toys</a>, enticing passersby to take a break and play.1
#mylegomasterpiece at YOTELWhen faced with the inevitable realities of expansion and renovation, YOTEL decided to shirk the traditional “Pardon our Dust” sign, and instead use the opportunity to make something truly creative that even the guests would enjoy.2
YOTEL LEGO WallCalling in Floyd Hayes, the hotel took lemons to make lemonade, making a temporary construction wall into center stage.3
Lego wall on FOURHayes replaced the plain construction wall with the interactive <a href="http://inhabitat.com/worlds-largest-lego-snow-globe-lights-up-london/" target="_blank">LEGO installation</a>, and the hotel waited for the guests to play.4
Build on this wall to play for a stayStretching across the space age lounge area on FOUR, the <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/i-beam-design-uses-20000-legos-to-create-a-playfully-pixelated-new-york-city-apartment/" target="_blank">LEGO wall</a> covers thirty feet, with a base layer of deep blue bricks.5
Play to Stay at YOTELGuests can ponder the ever-changing installation from one of the bright purple cushions that adorn the lounge, amongst other art and sculptures. Hundreds of LEGO bricks in an array of colors and sizes float atop the blue base, challenging travelers’ imaginations or drawing in guests headed to a nightlife event or brunch.6
