My Micro NY apartmentsIt looks like former mayor Mike Bloomberg's legacy is still going strong within the NYC rental market. His much-anticipated, affordable <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/nycs-first-prefab-micro-unit-apartment-building-begins-to-rise-in-manhattan-photos/" target="_blank">micro-unit apartment</a> project has finally come to fruition and is, as of September 1st, accepting rental applications. Designed by Brooklyn-based <a href="http://narchitects.com/" target="_blank">nARCHITECTS,</a> Carmel Place (formerly known as My Micro NY) is the first multi-unit modular construction in Manhattan and will offer affordable housing for low- and middle-income households.1
My Micro NY apartmentsLocated at 335 E 27th Street, Kips Bay, the $17 million development will have a total of 55 studios at 250 to 370 square feet.2
My Micro NY apartmentsOut of the 55, 22 apartments will be affordable units that start at $950 a month, depending on income. The remaining 33 units will rent for upwards to $3,000 per month.3
