Completed in 2016, the 8,881-square-foot home sits on a 706-acre rural property surrounded by rivers and blessed by a temperate year-round climate. Golden eagles, red-tailed hawks, falcons, deer, and elk are regularly spotted on the grounds, and the views can also be enjoyed from the endless pool in a separate, solar-heated glass building. According to the listing, the Shining Hand Ranch was “built to honor and reflect the beauty of the land” through traditional Native American themes and nature-inspired motifs. Hard edges were avoided wherever possible in favor of curvaceous and organic forms.

The entrance is marked by a pair of copper tree sculptures that frame an impressive arched doorway made from Brazilian mahogany and sculpted with shapes of the region’s native fauna, including salmon, coyotes, and eagles. The doors open up to an incredible foyer designed as a recreation of the forested riverine landscape: the granite floors evoke a sandy riverbed that gives way to custom and wavy timber flooring reminiscent of a river. River rock planters flank one edge of the foyer, while preserved Manzanita trees appear to “grow” out of the walls in the adjacent dining room. Timber staircases with carved banisters in the shapes of trees and birds lead up from the entryway to the upper level.

The upper level includes two bedrooms. The master suite, which is topped by a domed cedar ceiling, overlooks stunning views of the wildlife-rich valley through both large rectangular windows and custom-designed windows cut in the shapes of clouds and windswept trees. The ensuite bathroom also boasts spectacular views as well as a double shower, jetted tub, steam shower with natural boulders, and double sinks built with blue van Gogh granite. Such extravagance doesn’t come cheap though—Shining Hand Ranch, located on 2700 N Valley View Road, is currently for sale on Zillow for $8,235,000.
