A cheerful rainbow pathway recently surprised commuters crossing the famous London Bridge on their way to work. Created by global movement Spark Your City, the pop-up mosaic of colorful tiles spanned the nearly 985-foot length of the bridge. Although the tiles were only temporary, they certainly brightened up a gloomy Monday.
Spark Your City is a ‘global movement dedicated to spark joy in everyday city life’. They are a new group of creative change makers designing disruptive temporary installations to turn urban spaces into playgrounds. Under the ‘Love Mondays’ concept, they redecorated the London Bridge turning its dull concrete floors into a bold and bright pathway.
The surprising installation only lasted one day, for which the group worked all through the previous night. The rainbow road’s orange, red, purple, blue, yellow and white tiles are being recycled after their removal.
