Made from cassava root, these bags dissolve in hot water, breaking down into carbon dioxide and water without any toxic residue. <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/bali/" target="_blank">Bali</a>-based social enterprise <a href="http://www.avanieco.com/avani-1/" target="_blank">Avani</a> says their bags are biodegradable, compostable, recyclable, and when dissolved, safe enough to drink.1
