In addition to a series of large urban blocks that house commercial, recreational, residential, and retail functions, the city features large swaths of green space (including <a href="http://inhabitat.com/amazing-green-roof-art-school-in-singapore/">green walls and roofs</a>) that make up 40 percent of the dense urban fabric.
